A little background…
Nestled in the beautiful Ponderosa Pine trees along the east shore of Flathead Lake, you’ll find our small, family vineyard. First planted in 2015, our vines withstand Mother Nature’s extremes – frigid cold in the winter, late freezes in the fall; dry and hot summer days, spring showers and unforgiving hail… and you’ll find us working away there in ALL 4 seasons!! From winter pruning through fall’s harvest, the hard work never ends.
Though we do make plenty of wine to enjoy, the vast majority of our grapes, cherries, and other fruit is sold. We know how valuable it is to have a solid network of buyers and growers, and how integral it is to not only maintaining but “growing” Montana’s viticulture and wine production industries.
Montana Grape Brokers
Emily Hellman founded Montana Grape Brokers in 2024 with the intent to create an online platform and marketplace to facilitate communication between Montana grape, berry, and fruit growers and Montana winemakers and wineries.
In conjuction with the Montana Grape and Winery Association and the Montana Berry Growers Association, we will provide the ability for local growers to share the various grapes, berries, and fruits that they are growing and intending to sell; and for the winemakers to seek out and purchase the grapes, berries and fruits that they need in order to produce their amazing wines.
Montana Wine
The Montana wine industry is still very new. Until relatively recently, wineries and winemakers were forced to buy grapes and juice from out-of-state; meaning though their wine was “made in” Montana, it wasn’t grown there. We are slowly moving the needle and increasing the amount of Montana-grown grapes that are used in Montana wines; however, the biggest step that can be taken in the right direction is to get more of the state under-vine… to plant more vines that grow wine-worthy grapes.
It’s with the goal of growing more Montana grapes, berries, and fruits in mind that we strive to increase the awareness, encourage Montanans to consider planting, and provide resources and education for new and seasoned growers alike.
